Stacie Hughes, DBA, CPA, CMA, CFM, CFE, CGMA, FCPA

Stacie Hughes is an Associate Professor of Accounting at Athens State University. She earned her Doctor of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University, Master of Business Administration from the University of North Alabama, and undergraduate accounting degree from Athens State University. Stacie’s research interests include higher education retention; first-generation college students; diversity, equity, and inclusion; as well as forensic accounting, fraud, and ethics. Prior to joining the faculty at Athens State, she worked in corporate accounting as an accountant, accounting manager, and director. Stacie lives in Huntsville, Alabama, and spends much of her free time volunteering with local animal shelters and rescue groups, including fostering shelter dogs and cats in her home until they are adopted into loving homes of their own.
